One sentence summary: John Grogan and his wife buy a labrador dog called Marley, who they buy for practice before they make a child, but slowly Marley starts to make a change in both of they're lives and finally teaches them what really matters in life.
First Sentence: We were young.
First Chapter Review: The first chapter talks about John and his wife Jenny talking about what they should get for practice before they make a child. They decide that the best choice is to get a dog. They get a labrador and they call him Marley. With each passing day Marley grows and his actions need more responsibilites. Even though with all the mess Marley does he shows them that they need alot of responsibility to take care of a baby.
Verdict: A book that is funny, sad, and really interesting. When you see how much a dog can change your life it is just amazing. The author shows the love between the main characters and Marley. It was a blast to read. Definetly recommended
Cover comments: The cover shows Marley on the floor. Probably after he was brought in the house and staring at his new owners. Maybe he is happy that he is wandering around a new place and wondering what is happening to him.
