The meaning of Anne Frank's book is the diary that was given on her birthday. To Anne it means alot that is why she even named it Kitty and Anne explains how Kitty is her best friend when she was young.
The book is about Anne Frank a young jewish girl living in the times of World War II. She and her family are forced to go into hiding from the Nazis occupation in the Netherlands. In the "Secret Annexe" Anne starts to discover new things and experience new learnings such as love. Anne undergoes new feelings within the time she grows up in the "Secret Annexe"
Her diary is organized in dates in journal, and she uses her perspective of life to write about what had happened in the days she wrote in her diary. Kitty is the only "person" Anne can refer to and tell her the deepest thoughts
Anne comes to realize that life is hard in hidding and that with age she starts to experience new things. She falls in love with Peter who changes her life at that point. She also comes to realize about her relationship with other people from the "Secret Annexe" and her bad relationship with her mother.
Not only did I like the book but it is also touching. Every new date I was excited to see what Anne had experienced and I thought deeply in myself and realized that life was really hard for them in WWII comparing to our easy going life. I think everyone should read this book and learn about Anne Frank's daily experiences.
Some lines I loved were:
1. It is becoming a bad dream in daytime as well as at night, I see him nearly all the time and can't get at him. (160)
2. I wonder whether you can tell me why it is that people always try so hard to hide their real feelings? How is it that I always behave quite differently from what I should in other people's company (136)
3. A voice sobs within me: "There you are, that's what's become of you: you're uncharitable, you look supercilious and peevish, people dislike you and all because you won't listen to the advice given by your own better half." (267)
